So my husband thinks I'm crazy!

But, he doesn't understand pg hormones (and the fact that my mom can't come see the nursery just any ole' time she wants...or make that, that I want)! So, here's more pictures (mom)!!!

Crib Craziness!!

Woohoo! Baby C officially has a bed that was somewhat simple to put together, despite my pregnancy brain! Thank goodness for smart husbands! Now matteress picking, believe it or not was harder than picking the crib. A trip to babies-r-us to get the mattress that I had picked out based on ratings in my well read "Baby Bargains" book was a bust... well, at least it was a bust in the sense that running in and grabbing said mattress turned into a good 30 minute- which one is better discussion that also involved a telephone call to mom! The book that has been so helpful up to this point failed to mention that the BRU in OKC does not carry that mattress! The call to mother revealed (as I could've probably guessed) that 29 years ago it didn't matter how many coils a mattress has... I slept on a garage sale bargain! Needless to say, Baby C does have a mattress, too! Now if I can find an orange crib sheet and a very waterproof matress protector, I'll be one very happy camper!

Adventures in Sewing, Part II (And 24 weeks, today)

So, I'm no Martha Stewart, but who wouldn't love orange and blue undies???? Really, who wouldn't??? And they are so soft... just hope they don't fall apart in the wash!! And in case you wondering what they are for exacly, well they go over a cloth diaper (such as a fitted- an already made diaper that looks like a disposable), assuming it's waterproof enough! Sure beats vinyl undies, so let's hope it works!

Below is darling husband's latest "purchase". He brought it home yesterday and told me he found it in a garage sale and it cost $15. I guess he was trying to get me to be upset about the price, but I was too excited about it! Sure it needs some work, but it's adorable! Needless to say, his "purchase" was really a curbside find! Can I paint it orange? That's all I wanted to know!!!

And last, but not least the my ute is the size of a soccer ball- 24 week shot! It was a self potrait. Maybe tomorrow I can convince DH to take some at the same distance as the 20 week pic to compare!

It's beginning to look a lot like....

Christmas!!! I did some more on-line shopping! My excuse is that there are no stores in OKC that sell these (believe me, I looked)! So, my latest shopping spree brought Mr. Mailman to my doorstep with the following:

A wet bag (for dirty diapers, swim diapers, etc)

Dirty diaper pail liner (washed with the dirty diapers, so two were necessary!!!)

And last but not least.. the Moby wrap... and yes, if it comes in orange, I'm in love...

I'm pretty sure I need more practice. The teddy bear was not too happy with me pushing her head in there!

Mind you, there is a baby and teddy bear in there! And without the AC going, Okla. in July...well you get the picture! Glad we're having a fall baby!

Update...

...what I've been up to... because I don't want to clean!!! I'm hoping I'll eventually have that "nesting" phase that makes me want to deep clean the house, but right now I'd rather paint and sew and do all things not related to cleaning something (I've always been that way, though!).

The one on top is my very first cloth diaper... a Bum Genius 3.0 (don't make 'em like they used to, huh?)! It is called a pocket diaper. It works by stuffing a microfiber type insert into the "pocket" located on the inside. When it is dirty (eww!) you can take out the insert and then throw the whole thing into the wash. There are many different types of CD's to choose from, so by the time it's all said and done I'll probably have several differnt ones! The one on bottom is my first attempt at making one! I have yet to do the velcro, and I'm not sure how waterproof it is, but hopefully it will work as a cover over a prefold (more like the old CD's) that will be coming in the mail shortly!

My nursing cover from modestmommy.com. I've also found a pattern online that looks pretty easy to do, but my sewing skills aren't too good, so we'll see!

I found these at Kohl's... BOGOF!!! I couldn't resist! The big one is a coat hanger (DH wasn't too sure why the wheels stuck out so much, but he liked that they were big.. haha)! If you look closely in the picture frame you can see our baby boy!!!

This is the old wooden army footlocker that I finally got painted! It will be his toy chest.

Hope everyone had a wonderful fourth! DH and I made it down to see the folks! We enjoyed Dad's birthday (July 1) a little late, and watched some rainy fireworks! Also, I learned that one of my good friends who lives in Kentucky just had her little boy (on July 1)!!! He's so adorable, and it makes me anxious to meet our little one all that much more!

Take care everyone!
